Join us on this walk around the village of Ottershaw, visiting sites of former historic interest. Our trail stops half way at the Castle pub and takes you across muddy parkland, so wear appropriate footwear!
Instructions: park in the Murray Road (B3121) public car park, just off the Otter Roundabout. Exit the car park and cross the road, by the traffic island, to the Village Hall, and then cross again until you are standing outside the steakhouse. The tour starts there.
The name 'Ottershaw' only came into use during the mid 19th century when the current parish was created from the hamlet of Chertsey Lane End (the Guildford, Chobham and Foxhills Roads area), Brox and Spratts. Previously the name 'Ottershaw' was only used in relation to the Ottershaw Park estate area.
Thanks go to Hannah Lane of the Ottershaw Society for generously giving up her time to help write this walk.
