The project "Windows to Russia. Masterpieces by Seven Generations" created together with The Institute of Russian Realist Art partners – The State Tretyakov Gallery and “Ingosstrakh” company, had become one of the most important country’s culture events in 2017.
The exhibition has made a journey from the west of Russia to the east – the masterpieces of Russian painting were presented in Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Ekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok, in Sochi and Saint Petersburg the visitors had seen a multimedia show. Famous works of the 20th century artists had been seen by 120 thousand visitors.
Main theme of a project is an image of a window which is one of the classical motifs in art. For the artists of the past decades, the window became a mirror depicting the changes taking place in the country – from revolutionary turbulence and, modernization of the cities in the first half of 20th century to moving to the new districts during “The Thaw” and the search for oneself in the Perestroika of the 1980s. Window from an artist's workshop, window with a view on the city's landscape, window of rustic izba or a view from the windows in a new home, train or car, all of those images are peculiar gate to the country's history and art. The exhibition invites you on a unique journey – to open a window to Russia, in order to immerse yourself in the culture of our Homeland.
