On your left, you can see a wide building with distinct red-orange facade. Also the granite entrance portal in Saxon renaissance style is unmistakable. An alchemist lived here, who worked in the court of the last two Rosenberg noblemen, Vilém and Petr Vok of Rosenberg. Antonín Michal of Ebbersbach pretended to be a renowned alchemist and scientist, but he was a crook and a charlatan. He wheedled golden ducats out of Rosenberg that were supposed to be planted into the ground and watered with a special dressing to grow and proliferate. He also promised the youth and life elixir. The legend says he was imprisoned in a tower and died there "like a dog." But that is not the truth. He was indeed prosecuted, but he died in his house. He was buried in a silent hall of the Minorite Monastery with all honours worth a nobleman. He probably didn’t have a clean conscience, as he sometimes appears in the house and allegedly walks back and forth, up and down the stairs and sighs very much.
After thirty meters, we turn right from Široká Street onto Dlouhá Street, the word Dlouha means long, but paradoxically is no longer than Široká. According to Krumlov legends, the mysterious well-doer, witch and healer Annabella lived there. In her chamber with a large fire ring on Dlouhá Street she used to help all good people to relieve their troubles.
At the end of Dlouhá Street go left to the bridge.
