At Praia de Mira you can watch the arte xávega, a traditional beach-seine fishery rooted in the identity of this community. The fish caught here is used to prepare the famous caldeiradas de peixe (fish stews), sardinha na telha (sardines on a tile), arroz de sardinha (sardine rice) and pitéu de raia (skate).
