Eastern Sanitary Landfill will be able to accept trash up until the year 2054. When I visited this Landfill I was informed that each of the landfills have three phases. Each phase is a level of a certain amount of trash that can be contained. Considering that the trash in these phases for the most part are decomposable and will not break down completely each of these phases can contain a considerable amount of trash. This landfill is in its 10th phase and is expected to reach the 13th phase by the year 2054. If all of the trash that ended up in the Inner Harbor were to end up in each of these landfills these phases would fill up much more quickly. This would mean that Baltimore County would have to find an alternative to the trash in Baltimore, if this situation to occur. In the future however, this is the truth Baltimore County will be required to find an alternative for holding trash.
