The department suggests that the Barge Haulers on the Volga Sculptural Compositionshould be complemented with the following words: “The composition consists of a bronze easel, forming the frame of the picture, a barge, and haulers, characters of the picture, painted by Russian artist Ilya Repin in 1870-1873”. The central idea of the sculpture is to represent the natural landscape of the Volga river, shown in the background of the picture. The sculpture, including the frame, is about 1.5m high, and the pedestal is about a meter.
