The Barker House bean as the Pine Cottage and under the direction of Charles Barker it became a 110 room hotel sporting two ornate turrets. Charles Pollen bought the hotel in 1904 and renamed it the Navajo Hotel. Later the hotel was converted to apartments and suffered many years of neglect before its restoration into senior housing in 1984.
