The primatial Saint-André cathedral in Bordeaux is located on Place Pey-Berland. It is the most imposing place of worship in Bordeaux. It is the cathedral church of the Archdiocese of Bordeaux. It was consecrated on May 1, 1096 by Pope Urban II, on tour to preach the First Crusade. It was rebuilt in the Gothic style from the 12th to the 16th century.
