Mikhail Glazunov – a city merchant – donated money to build a church of Prokopiy and Ioann Chudotvorsky in 1740 – 1767. The street where the church was built was named Chudotvorskaya. The church was demolished in 1930. On the 3d of November 1920 the street was re-named. Now it was called after Yakov Bograd who was a fighter for the Soviet government. The residential building on this street has a memorial plaque devoted to him.  When in May 2016 the street was given its original name, the memorial plaque was dismantled. The city mayor of Irkutsk decided to return the original name of Chudotvorskaya to the street on the 25th of May 2016. There are residential buildings of boatmen are situated symmetrically with respect to the street.
