Dartlo – Pirikita Valley’s main highlight
Overview

Dartlo, located 12km from Omalo, is one of the most remarkable places in Tusheti and without a doubt among Tusheti’s main highlights. It is famous for its historic stone towers, local houses, beautiful landscapes and the semi-collapsed Dartlo Church.

In this village it feels like being transported back in time. There are both Pagan and Christian religious buildings and both are equally respected by everyone who lives there. An interesting area is the local court; women are forbidden to enter it.

Getting There: The road starts in Omalo Village and descends into Que, at the crossroads of the Pirikita, Gometsari and Chaghma communities. From here the road continues downward and near Dartlo it crosses the river via a bridge.
