Socio-economic relations of mid 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century determined the enterprise activity of the merchant class. It was during this period when the number of merchants of first and second guilds increased in Verny city, some of them even became suppliers of the Imperial Court. The largest trading company at that time was the company "I.Gabdulvaliev & sons", making retail and wholesale trade of manufactory, haberdashery, perfumery products since 1871. It belonged to Verny first guild merchant and patron of the city – Iskhak Gabdulvaliev. One of the clerks of the trading house was the father of long-time leader of Soviet Kazakhstan D.A Kunaev. By 1895 Iskhak became the owner of allotment №441 on the corner of Commerce and School Streets (now Zhibek Zholy - Valikhanov). This is where the store will be built, which will be one of the main outlets of Vernyi. During Soviet times, it got its common name "Kyzyl-Tang." Like a fabulous mansion, intricate with its decoration, it attracts the eyes of people walking by. The architect P.V. Gourde erected this building in the neo-Russian style. It is located on Zhibek Zholy Street, 39. It is a one-storied wooden building with a brick basement on a rubble strip foundation. The floor plan is rectangular, and it has a symmetrical facade composition. The main axis is highlighted with double-height tower, completed the incredibly beautiful dome with a scaly coating, lucarnes, spire, relief cornices and valances of applied thread.
