Welcome to Fred Kulturu Shop. Here you will find everything that Surinamese people or non-Surinamese people interested in this culture, need. There are all kinds of products for Winti rituals, different types of oils and other natural medicinal miracle cures. About 15 years ago the store was started by Fred. Apart from the sale, he was mainly motivated to introduce non-Surinamese people to the rituals of his native country. Urbian is currently the proud owner of Fred Kulturu Shop. Yet the shop was not always Urbian's passion. He learned about the culture and the various rituals, herbs and leaves, but didn't always have affinity with it. Everything changed when his father died suddenly. Fred Fitz-James, also known as "Uncle Fred", was a well-known pillar in the Surinamese community in Rotterdam and surroundings. Among other things, he worked on the positive image of the West-Kruiskade and ensured that the street was designated as an intangible heritage. It was unclear who would be the one to take over the store and whether the store would be taken over at all. Until Urbian heard stories of people who came back and saw the closed shop as a big loss. Fred, as a person, is missed greatly. Then Urbian decided to continue his father's legacy. After taking over the store, Urbian's love and passion for the Surinamese rituals arose. Fred always said that Urbian had to take over the business later. 

Fred Kulturu Shop has a special product, the Mang Batra. Literally translated the men's bottle. As the name suggest, it is all about the male gender. Many Surinamese products are based on making it stronger, and increasing libido. For example, the Mang Batra, an alcoholic drink based on syrup, rum and cognac. This drink provides stimulation of the male genitalia. Fred used to sell it and after a while Urbian has put his own spin on his father's recipe. He has only gotten good remarks about this and therefore has put it on the market.
