This cultural center has 9,500 meters built and is located in the old street of teaching in the mud La Candelaria in Bogotá, was created by the culture fund of Mexico and designed by the architect Rogelio Salmona. It takes the name of the Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez who is also recognized for his works, for winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982.
