González Hontoria Park

Beautiful, spacious and pleasant urban park in the city.

First public park in Jerez inaugurated in 1902, its name is after Julio González Hontoria, who was mayor of Jerez in those days.

It was then conditioned to host the Cattle Fair. Giving place after to the celebration of our Horse Fair, known worldwide and declared of international tourist interest.

Also in this place the tree festival was celebrated annually. A large day dedicated to the tree, new specimens were planted, in a festive atmosphere. It would not be a bad idea to resume its celebration, since the elders still remember it and long for it.

Listed as a Garden of Cultural Interest. Divided into two areas: La Rosaleda, with a small pond, bust of Julio González Hontoria and a playground. The other area formed by Los Jardines de El Bosque, with a wide selection of tall tree species, both indigenous and exotic.

In short, a wonderful place to take a pleasant walk.
