On April 1, 1934, the Krasnoyarsk river port was built. In 1940, in the architectural workshop of the Moscow Planning Department, a project for the building of the Krasnoyarsk River Port was developed. The majestic Khimki River Port with long tiered arcades and turrets was chosen as a prototype. The symmetrical volume of the building ran into the slope of the bank terrace and had two floors from the side of the city, and three floors from the side of the river. The process of construction was interrupted by the war. In 1948 the project was revised; the new author was the architect Alexander Nikolaevich Golubev. The central part of the building and the side risalits underwent significant reworking. The central part received a more monumental character due to the appearance of an arched three-part portico. The composition of the main turret was completely changed. Colonnades appeared from the west and east under the base of the spire. In 1952, construction was completed; landscaping of the territory (asphalting of the pier and embankment) was done in 1956. The River Port has become one of the symbols of Krasnoyarsk. The model of the building was awarded a silver medal and a certificate of honour at the International Exhibition in Brussels in 1958.
