Le Rostand

The action of the episode of Paris je t'aime entitled Quartier Latin is set in the Latin Quarter of Paris around the Sorbonne, the boulevards Saint Michel and Saint Germain, the Panthéon and the Luxembourg Gardens, but the scene is almost entirely shot in a café and restaurant called Le Rostand. The café enjoys an excellent location facing the Luxemboug Gardens at place Edmond Rostand and the outdoor terrace is always busy, with gas heaters to keep the blend of writers, professors and fashion gurus warm in winter. For this somewhat bitter and nostalgic rendez-vous between the ex-married couple Ben and Gina, the manager of the bar and restaurant has been replaced by Gérard Depardieu. This café is a good spot to enjoy some real hot chocolate on a chilly winter's afternoon or some French brasserie food such as a croque monsieur or the ubiquitous "steak frites" or steak and fries before taking a stroll through the Luxembourg Gardens opposite.
