The villa was built by Mr. Edouard Bouny, notary in Sainte Foy la Grande, brother-in-law of Elisee Reclus, famous geographer and militant anarchist. Came to Arcachon to treat his daughter Marie-Louise, suffering from tuberculosis, the latter died in 1888, at the age of 8 in the Jasmin villa near the Moorish casino. According to Protestant tradition, his father asked the mayor for the possibility of burying him on land belonging to him on the edge of the forest. The villa "Les Sablines" was then built to be lived in in 1890.
It is a villa of regular rectangular plan, in brick. It is composed of a ground floor and a first floor in front of which runs a wooden balcony (now gone), with three front windows and two on the sides.
In 1891, this house was a boarding house for women and children, run by the Tondu nuns.
