L'Institution Notre-Dame de Moulins

On her arrival at Moulins in 1900 , Gabrielle Chanel is 18 years old . She is greeted by the Sisters of Institution Notre-Dame in the " Petite Ecole " , otherwise called " needy wing ", funded by Moulins wealthy families. Her aunt Adrienne , in turn , pay a boarder. The girls received here teaching to be then placed at merchants where they would earn a living and be housed.
