According to a legend, Koshkar ata was a student of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. He studied the works of his teacher and followed his commandments. He reached success in studying spiritual heritage, had a deep knowledge of the Quran and Hadith. He earned respect and was elected as a judge.
Koshkar ata was buried by the river which later received his name.
For a long time people went to his grave - some for healing and some for wealth. They say it helped. He gives wealth just enough for a person to live a simple life. Some people say that thanks to prayers to Koshkar ata they recovered from illness and improved their life.
The mausoleum, frequently visited by people, is not the original burial place of the great old man. Since the tomb of Koshkar ata later appeared directly in the middle of apartment buildings, it was decided to move it a little aside and build a new mausoleum.
