On the shore of the Cheboksary Bay there is an old building, recognizable as a house with a mezzanine. It was built in 1903 by the tradesman S.V. Cherkasov for his son. After the revolutionary events of 1917, the building was nationalized. In 1920, there were departments of the Regional Revolutionary Committee, the Chuvash regional trade union, the trade unions of Chuvashia, and in 1921 the classic of Chuvash Soviet poetry Mikhail Sespel lived and worked.

The Mikhail Sespel Museum was opened on November 25, 2003. Today, collections of poems, personal belongings and letters, photographs and other items that allow you to recreate the periodization of the life of a talented young man who managed to leave a bright mark in the history of Chuvash literature during his short life are collected here. Mikhail Sespel lived for 22 years (1899-1922). But during this time he made a huge contribution to the development of Chuvash poetry. The poet's creative pseudonym in translation from the Chuvash language means "snowdrop".
