Valuable wine area. The route crosses here the geographical mentions Mompissano, to the right of the route, and San Vittore, to its left.
The Monte Pizano locality is mentioned in the 1242 sale to Asti by the "de Laureto" lords, and the land register of 1563 records almost all lands with vines, part of which is owned by the Counts of Roero.
The vineyards of the San Vittore cru take their name from the ancient settlement of Canale, prior to 1200, on whose remains, a little further downstream, stands the small church of the same name.
The small church, rebuilt in 1904 in neo-Romanesque style, replaced the ancient parish church of San Vittore, mentioned from the 10th century on.
