In the center of Revolution Square, there is a monument to heroes of the October Revolution and the Civil War. The monument was officially opened before the 60th anniversary of the October Revolution in 1977.

The monument features two inclined stelas 10 and 12 meter high, emblematic of the joined colors. They celebrate the fight for the Soviet power and battles of the Civil War in Russia.

The monument is popularly called a tooth. Several years ago, they discussed  moving the monument to one of the outer-lying residential districts of the city and restoring a fountain which used to operate there before the monument was set up. However, it was found out that the monument was unique and there was nothing of the kind in Russia, so it remained on this place.
