Project by Alexander Silnitskii

Despite the considerable time that has passed since Vladimir Vysotsky's death, his popularity remains phenomenal to this day. In Ekaterinburg, a street and a skyscraper are named after him. A wonderful museum is dedicated to him. The Red Line has brought us to one more sight associated with him - the monument to Vladimir Vysotsky and Marina Vlady. The monument was installed next to the Bolshoy Ural Hotel where Vladimir Vysotsky stayed during his tour in 1962.

The installation of the monument in 2006 was timed to Vladimir Vysotsky's birthday on 25 January. The idea for the monument and the image of Vladimir Vysotsky playing the guitar for Marina Vlady was approved by Nikita Vysotsky, the bard's son. The monument is cast in bronze. The figures look natural, since their proportions correspond to human ones. Perhaps that is what makes it one of the most romantic and most photographed monuments in Ekaterinburg.
