The Kagayamae mulberry tree is a tree with increasing diffusion in Portugal, especially in streets and gardens due to its size in parasol shape and very wide leaves that give the appreciated shade especially in the sunny areas. The fruits of the Kagayamae mulberry are edible. They are small elongated blackberries, red in color, then black in maturity. This specimen is dioecious and fruitful, unlike the other Kagayamae mulberry trees planted in this square, which are genetically modified so that they can be used in streets, as blackberries stain the streets and are unpleasant when they fall to the ground, especially for pedestrians.
