Museum of gladiators
Overview

The gladiator museum is located inside the Amphitheater park. The structure is composed of two rooms that host finds found during the archaeological excavations of 1726: two iron helmets, two pairs of leggings, a shield and votive sculputures. In the first room it's possible to enjoy a scale model of the current appearance of the Amphitheater as a result of the time effects and of the depredations of marble and materials in 1100 when the complex was used as a quarry. In the second room there are the sculptural decorations, the marble basreliefs and the keystones that once decorated the Amphitheater. In addition, there is a recreation of the balustrade of the vomitoria, decorated with basreliefs illustrating hunting scenes and exotic animals
