Narrandera Hospital
Overview

The Victorian buildings in the hospital complex are some of the earliest in Narrandera and are not commonly seen in the local area. Provision was made for a hospital site in 1882 and the first cottage hospital was built in 1883 with fundraising led by Railway workers. This was erected on the western side of the current building. The main building of the hospital was established in 1885. An isolation ward was added in 1902 and nurse’s quarters were erected in 1907. A new ward was added in 1911 with terracotta tiled roof.

The trees of Stone Pine (pinus pinea) and London Plane (flatanus hybrid)  in the grounds are both subject to Tree Preservation Order.
