The Palace of the Councils (or Palace of the Duke of Uceda) is a building from the 17th century located in central Madrid, near the mayor street.
Although it is not possible to enter it, we can still admire its facade, an example of the architecture of that time. It covered a convent of nuns (nunnery). It served as the seat of the Royal Councils, which eventually disappeared.
Currently as can be read at the top of its portals, the General Captaincy and the Council of State share this place.
Fact: some recognised authors, such as Quevedo, admired the esthetic of this palace.
