Pavlodar's embankment

The Irtysh river embankment is a favourite recreational area for citizens and visitors to the city. The design of the embankment is based on the terraced principle, taking into account the natural relief. The upper terrace is the level of the existing square. The main terrace is the central alley, uniting the existing alleys into a single embankment. The lower terrace is the beach itself.
The main axis of the composition is the central axis of the main descent, coinciding with the central axis of the square. At the closure of this axis there is a viewing platform. The central descent is represented by flights of stairs and fountains. The central embankment adjoins the central city square, forming a single architectural ensemble. The project was designed by Pavlodar Civil Design Institute.
