Castalla is a municipality in the Valencian Community, Spain. Located in the interior of the province of Alicante in the region of Hoya de Castalla. It is the capital of the historical sub-brand of Hoya de Castalla (Valencian: Foia de Castalla) and has 9,994 inhabitants. Castalla Castle is located on a hill overlooking the entire valley and the village is located around it, at the foot of the hill, at 680 m above sea level.
