Inaugurated on December 8, 2012 and dedicated to the famous Italian architect, Piazza Gae Aulenti is the epicenter of the most modern area of Milan. Crossing between the historic center and the financial districts, the Gae Aulenti Square and the buildings that surround it are the result of the rehabilitation project of the Garibaldi, Isola and Varesine neighborhoods. The urban complex is the work of the architect César Pelli and its main nucleus is the Piazza Gae Aulenti, a circular podium that rises 6 meters above the street. Around the squere there are different buildings with a surprising design. The most impressive is the Unicredit Tower which, with a height of 231 meters, has become the tallest skyscraper in Italy. The square is connected to a pedestrian walkway with the Corso Como, one of the liveliest streets in Milan. It has countless shops, restaurants and bars. The futuristic aesthetic of the Piazza Gae Aulenti is in complete harmony with the buildings that surround it and with the lighting system of its surroundings. At nightfall begins a show of water, light and sound, and activates the Solar Tree, a system of LED lights that uses solar energy to illuminate the square.

Piazza Gae Aulenti has become one of the must-sees in Milan. To enjoy the best views of the city, you can climb to the top of the highest tower of the Unicredit building. It should also be noted that, together with the Navigli district, the Plaza Gae Aulenti is the area with the most nightlife in Milan, for its clubs, restaurants and trendy places.

It is located next to the Garibaldi train station, north of Milan.
