The Baroque style castle was built between 1735-40 by Gábor Prónay I. The former main entrance is a lonely gate with a basket-arched opening at the edge of the park, decorated with a large stone headstone. The main building is one-storey rectangular with a hipped gable roof and has strong projecting mansard-roofed towers at the corners. The large hall on the upper floor has stucco decoration. One of the outbuildings, part of which is a single storey, was a stable and the other, known as the picture house, has been rebuilt and has a new roof.
Garden description. According to contemporary maps, the park did not exceed its present extent. The Galga stream flows in front of the park. The watercourse did not form part of the landscape garden, but it may have been a prominent feature of the landscape around the castle. The wall of the landscaped staircase in front of the castle is enriched by an ornamental fountain. The castle and its grounds have been in the care of the Ministry of Defence for decades.
