Christian IV built the Rosenborg Castle in the early 17th century. It was turned into a museum in 1833 to expose thousands of objects spanning the history of the Danish monarchy. It houses the jewels of the Danish krone, the memories of King Christian IV , and a large collection of silver furniture.
