Roßauer Lände , named  after the former suburb Roßau; originally (from about 1880) Roßauer Lände, from 1903 meanwhile Elisabethpromenade.
The Danube-moving and in today's Danube Canal at the Werdertor docking cargo ships brought salt, fish, fruit (Schanzel), slaughter cattle, stone slabs, fuel and lumber (woodland sites in Roßau, Kleber) and salt Salzgries, Salzamt). The temporary name Am Badergries (between Stroheck and Pramergasse) referred to the public baths built in 1646, the name Auf der Scheiben (1662, between Porzellangasse and Danube Canal) indicates a shallow shore. Rossauer Brunnen.
