Rotating murals – various artists

The artwork in Confucius playground has been applied to a wall on a building of the cultural youth organisation DOCK. SAMA regularly organises workshops here for students and local residents. As an active organisation in Nieuw-West, the Street Art Museum Amsterdam is involved in various social programs.

In 2020, because art is eminently suitable for discussing topics, SAMA worked together with the Fred Foundation, an organisation that promotes a healthy lifestyle for children in Nieuw-West. With the Food4Smiles project they focus on the first 1000 days of a child. To discuss this with parents and grandparents of babies, SAMA organised low-threshold workshops. Artist Alaniz (AR) translated the results into a mural that makes the experiences and insights of the local residents visible.

This work may have been repainted in the meantime, because this wall is intended for temporary murals associated with current programs and current events. Previously, a mural about the lockdown was shown, after which a mural as part of a summer program MidzomerMokum for children in corona time.
