Rowland Hall was constructed as a Public Works Administration project in 1939. Built originally as the university's elementary lab school and teacher training center, the building was dedicated to President Albert Lindsay Rowland in 1941. It currently houses the Department of Communication/Journalism, its writing labs, its video and audio editing suites, classrooms and faculty offices.
