2020 was the year where the centre was given an opportunity to emphasise its role as a centre for science. Its vision and mission were updated to fulfil the mission of Wawasan Brunei 2035 or Brunei Vision 2035, to develop highly skilled and educated individuals. Seria Energy Lab (SEL) is a superior program from Brunei Shell Petroleum that encourages the growth of science literacy in the nation. SEL combines the uniqueness of science and technology with the intention of improving daily lives. It opens the mind to see technology which will be used in the future. The lab also lets you experience interactive learning and exploration of exciting knowledge.
90 years ago, Seria was the starting point of the oil and gas industry in Padang Berawa, Brunei. The Seria Energy Recreational Park was constructed to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Brunei Shell Petroleum. Brunei Shell Petroleum took this opportunity to share the park with the public to enable the communities in Seria and Belait to enjoy physical fitness and leisurely activities.
