Sint-Joris Doelen
Overview

Just to the north of the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Abbey is St Jorisdoelen, the guildhall of the guild of the archers of St joris. The façade (1582), with the coat of arms of Middelburg, Zeeland and the archers of the guild, was rebuilt in its original form in 1969-1970. The golden St. joris is on the roof.

The office building was originally built in 1582 (as stated on the façade) and served as the basis of the archers' guild of St. George of Zeeland. During the 2nd World War, the buildings were destroyed and then rebuilt immediately after the war. The extensions were realized around 1970. the Sint Joris doelen is not a monument, but it does fall within the protected city area.
