Common name in Catalan: Busqueret coallarga.
Common name in Spanish: Curruca balear.
Traditionally considered a subspecies of the Sardinian warbler, it has recently been differentiated as a separate species. This long-tailed warbler has a general slate-grey colouring, rather similar to that of the Bonelli's warbler. It inhabits areas of dense Mediterranean scrub in the Balearic Islands (except Menorca), where it is endemic. Its breeding season lasts from March to July, with the possibility of two clutches a year and occasionally up to three, and its diet is based mainly on small invertebrates.
