The Astana Grand Mosque is located between Kabanbai Batyr and Mangilik Yel avenues.
According to its technical indicators, the Mosque belongs to the category of unique buildings and is the largest in the country and Central Asia with a minarets height of 130 meters, the main dome diameter of 62 meters, a height above the dome of 83 meters and a total one-time capacity of more than 30,000 people.
The financing of the construction was carried out without attracting public investment, solely at the expense of the sponsorship.
The project is made in classical Kazakh and Islamic styles, using traditional ornaments and decorative elements. The total area of the building is more than 68 thousand m2. The building of the mosque has three-story structure including the main prayer hall, a group of rooms adjacent to the prayer hall with a lobby hall, and a women's prayer hall.
One of the four minarets framing the inner courtyard of the Mosque, located in the eastern part of the building, has an elevator with the possibility of lifting tourists and visitors to the observation deck to a height of 90 and 110 meters.
Out of a total capacity of 30 thousand people:
• The main prayer hall accommodates - 15 thousand people.
• Women's prayer hall - at least 3 thousand people.
• Vaulted gallery - not less than 4.5 thousand people.
• The inner open courtyard of the Mosque in Summer, during prayer, can accommodate at least 7.5 thousand people at the same time
