A significant part of the exposition of the Central Armed Forces Museum is devoted to the Battle of Stalingrad and to the events on the southwestern wing of the Soviet-German front. There are documents, photographs, personal belongings of the defenders of Stalingrad, commanders of the 62nd and 64th armies generals Vasily Ivanovich Chuikov and Mikhail Stepanovich Shumilov, commander of the 13th Guards Rifle Division, Major General Alexander Rodimtsev, the sniper Vasily Zaitsev, the soldiers who fought in the legendary "House of Pavlov". The Stalingrad offensive operation is represented by documents, photographs and personal belongings of Georgy Zhukov, Alexander Vasilevsky, Nikolai Voronov. Among the exhibits there are the trophies of the Red Army, captured in the Stalingrad area, including personal belongings of Commander of the 6th German Army, General Field Marshal Paulus, who was captured in Stalingrad. In the center of one of the halls there is a diorama called "There is no land for us beyond the Volga!" painted by Marat Samsonov and Alexander Samsonov.
