The Church of Santa Croce and The Benedictine Convent

The Church of Santa Croce was built on an older structure at the end of the sixteenth century. The church owes its dedication to the gift of a relic of the Holy Cross  by Princess Aloisia Moncada.
You will be amazed by the church’s interior with its golden stucco décor.  
Here’s a little trivia,the annexed convent became a high school later linked to two important writers: Leonardo Sciascia and Vitaliano Brancati. The first one studied here while the second used to teach literature at the institute.
