The Church of Santa Flavia and the Benedictine Monastery

The church was built  in 1592 by expanding a previous structure. The building is striking for its austerity which also characterises the contemporary works of art inside by painter Salvatore Cascone and the seventeenth-century Crucifix by Friar Umile da Petralia .
The annexed monastery recalls by its monumentality the unfinished architecture of San Nicolò l’Arena in Catania.
