The house was finished in 1913 as the Mīlgrāvis abstinence association building, it was the first house in Latvia which was built with reinforced concrete. The idea originated with the patron of art Augusts Dombrovskis. From the end of the 1930s until the 1950s the house was used as a filming pavilion, and was featured in the production of films such as “Kauguri Village” (1941), “Home with Victory” (1947). The building was renovated in 2014, and serves as the local cultural center.
