"Bolshaya Pokrovskaya - one of the main and lively streets in Nizhny Novgorod. There are to the finest shops and is the focus of retail sale of luxury goods and comfortable furnishings for a fashionable public; there are public and state institutions, many commercial and industrial offices; several beautifully built grandiose private houses: the Frolovs, Chesnokovs, Rukavishnikovs."

This is how Bolshaya Pokrovskaya, or simply Pokrovka, was described in a guidebook of the late 19th century. At one time the street was open to traffic, but today it retains the atmosphere and liveliness described more than a century ago. During this time, the owners of the buildings changed, the street was overgrown with new restaurants, coffee houses and entertainment.

It is impossible to get lost on this street: the Dmitrievskaya tower of the Kremlin is visible from any distance. And now, going down from the bank building to the museum, you can see it.

At the end of the excursion, we suggest you walk along the picturesque Pokrovka to the building of the Russian Museum of Photography, from where the excursion began. You can visit the unique museum, its permanent exhibition, photo studio and exhibitions on any day except Friday, and learn even more about famous photographers, the history of the development of photography and photographic equipment. We hope you enjoyed our tour and will return to the Museum of Photography again!
