The man who leaves a great heritage to the off springs is considered to be a great man. His heritage lives for ages and brings fame to its creator, who is appreciated by the whole country. One of those people is Mukhtar Auezov (1897-1961). He was a writer, a dramatist, a scientist. His masterpiece novel “Abai’s way” became an encyclopedia of Kazakh nation, and also became a part of world’s literature. M.Auezov was a member of Kazakh Sovied Academy of Science, Doctor of Philosophy, as well as a prominent writer, scientist, historian, and ideological leader of literature.    Chingiz Aytmatov considered Mukhtar Auezov to be his teacher. Rasul Gamzatov said that “Caucas mauntains are up to the waist of Mukhtar Auezov’s fame”. His works devoted to Kazakh folklore are play “Yenlik-Kebek”, drama “Kara-Koz”, and many other works deserving long discussions. His works are full of sensitivity and truth. The monument to Mukhtar was erected in 1980 in front of Kazakh Drama Theatre named after M.A.Auezov. The foundation of professional National Theater is closely connected to his name. The bronze statue is cast in bronze as per the design of the sculptor E.A.Sergebayev. The stone podium was designed by the architects O.Z.Baymurzayev, and A.S.Kaynarbayev. The writer shown deep in his thoughts, sitting with a book in the right hand. The statue very accurately gives the complicated character of Auezov, and can be considered as an example of sculpture arts.
