The monument to Udmurt Armourers was established in 2007 in honor of the 200th anniversary of Izhevsk arms and the 60th anniversary of Kalashnikov assault rifle.

There is no such monument anywhere in the world. The monument was opened on August 4, 2007. The author of the composition is  architect Pavel Medvedev from Izhevsk. The Creator took the image of hard workers from the original photos of craftsmen of Izhevsk. The best gunsmiths wore special coat, cane and cylinder, the shape of which can be seen on the new monument. The weight of the composition is almost 4 tons, and for the effect of "aging", the monument is covered with a special coating. The monument stands on a granite pedestal on a steep descent to the arms factory, which began with the capital of Udmurtia. On the monument there are plaques in glory and in memory of the great weapon designers ─ Kalashnikov, Nikonov, Yarygin, Dragunov. The area where the monument is called "Square of armourers".
