The Summer garden or, as it was originally called, General garden – the oldest Park in Izhevsk. This is the most landscaped and most visited Park located in the center of city.

The plant and the village in those years was managed by the General, who was appointed to this position by the Emperor of Russia. The house was built  for the General – commander of the plant. This house with the garden resembled a Palace at that time.

Before the revolution, it was a private garden of the General's family. But after the revolution, the garden was opened to all citizens.

In the early twentieth century,the theater in the Summer garden was a favourite place of citizens. A special success was noted for the production of the play by the author Maxim Gorky "At the bottom". After the death of the writer,street and city garden were  named after Maxim Gorky.

The very first swing in the Summer garden appeared in the 40s of the last century and were wooden, but despite of this it had great popularity among children and young people. Carousels – prototypes of modern attractions were installed in the Park in the early 60-ies of the twentieth century. Today Summer garden ─ theme Park for all ages and preferences of visitors.

Nowadays, keeping the tradition, the Summer garden hosts a variety of holidays and festivals.
