We will discuss two of the theatre the Opera and ballet Theatre and the Chamber theatre, which is conveniently located next to each other.
Chelyabinsk state academic Opera and ballet theatre named after M. I. Glinka began its work on September 29, 1956. Since then, almost every day the sounds of Opera arias have not subsided on its stage, and artists perform on stage. But only few people know that the stage itself is located in a place quite bleak. For a long time, when Chelyabinsk was still a fortress, the current center of the city was considered the outskirts. And it was here that the churchyard was arranged for the deceased.
Like many other cities, Chelyabinsk, over time, has grown, but the churchyard is not moved. When laying the Foundation of the theater, the builders came across a lot of human remains. Part of the remains were reburied, and some left to lie in the ground.
In 1996, workers laid a fire hydrant to the Art gallery across the square in front of the Opera house; when they led the trench from the streets of Labor, excavator hooked the coffin. So it was found a cemetery; it is a mass grave was located near the Church of St. Nicholas, which stood on the present crossing of streets of Work and tsvillinga from the Opera house. Then more than 100 burials of children and adults were found. The bones were reburied in the Mitrofanovskoe cemetery.
However, it disturbed the dead haunt the living. The builders themselves said that the night or early morning, they noticed the silhouettes or heard voices. When the theater was completely rebuilt, employees of the institution allegedly began to complain about voices, visions and strange sounds. However, archaeologists claim that the building of the theater was not built in the cemetery, and hundreds of meters from it, closer to the tram tracks at the intersection of Zwilling and Labor.
The theater itself was built on the site of the Cathedral of Christ, founded in 1748 and destroyed in 1932. The theater was scheduled to open in 1941, the Great Patriotic war suspended the work. Instead of the theater, the building housed the evacuated Kalibr plant. Reconstruction of the theatre were resumed only in 1948. The theatre received a modern look only in 1983.
And now we go to the side of Zwilling street, to the Chamber theater, which also has its own legends.
The building of the Chamber theater is a former mansion of merchants Breslin. Famous Chelyabinsk worker and his wife was often linked to the practice of spiritualism. According to legend, together with the actors they held sessions in the basement of his mansion. In addition, the mansion is connected with another mysterious story. Even in Soviet times, the theater started a major overhaul of the auditorium with many years of flowing roof and at the same time decided to check the condition of bearing structures. To do this, under one of the stairs cracked the concrete floor to get to the ancient masonry of the Foundation, and discovered something that changed the usual view of the mansion: the building of the theatre was discovered underground passage!
It turned out that dungeons are straight to the embankment of the Miass river, however, why would the merchant still remains a mystery. There are many legends around this. One of them says that Miass valley was very gold-bearing, and that Breslin was trying to find a gold mine. According to another version — the underground passage is nothing but a tunnel with horse trading route.
Bought Leah Berkovoy Breslin in 1905, the mansion at the time was the printing house where were printed the first "big" Chelyabinsk newspaper "Voice of the Urals"; and the cinema "ARS" and radiological Association with the club of food industry workers. More important, of course, the newspaper. So, at the time, among other editors, was a journalist and ethnographer Victor A. Vishnevskogo, who in 1909 published a guide "the Whole Chelyabinsk and its environs" - the first reference book about Chelyabinsk and A. G. Turkin is the first professional writer of Chelyabinsk.
Since 1991, this building houses a chamber theatre.
