The cigar is an inseparable part of Cuba as salsa or a mojito. And Partagas - perhaps, the oldest tobacco factory in Havana.
It is founded in 1845 by the native of Catalonia Jaime Partagas. Initially modest production has quickly grown to almost industrial scales and became the most profitable cigar production in Havana. After the mysterious death of the founder, the factory has come to desolation. Say that Partagas was killed by the competitors who were afraid of own ruin. Soon the leadership in production was undertaken by the assistant of Partagas - Ramón Sifuyentes, but after the Revolution, as well as all private enterprises, the plant has been nationalized.
