Usaquén is one of the most traditional neighborhoods with the longest history in the city of Bogotá. It is also one of the most exclusive areas of the Colombian capital. The neighborhood is part of the locality that bears the same name, located in the northeastern end of the city. In its beginnings it was a town located in the neighborhoods of Bogota, founded in the XVI century; but with the great growth of the capital, it was absorbed, and became one of its many neighborhoods.Usaquén stands out for conserving part of the wealth of its colonial architecture, with narrow and picturesque streets that make up an ideal environment to enjoy walking. Modern architecture is also part of its urban landscape, in great harmony with its colonial essence, housing numerous restaurants, bars and shops that provide a great commercial and entertainment movement to the area. The Church of Santa Barbara, temple dating of the year 1665 and famous for hosting a large sample of oil; the Hacienda Santa Bárbara Shopping Center, one of the most exclusive in the city; and the Plaza de Usaquén with its great variety of trees and street furniture, are some of the attractions to visit in Usaquén.
